Starting from the first episode of season four it was straight chaos, made with many impulsive, quick choices. They had previously, in season three, found the lost city of gold, El Dorado, and ended up getting over one million dollars from selling the gold. From there, they decided their first purchase would be buying back the Maybank place, which was JJ’s house and property. They had a budget that Pope ended up making before the auction, which JJ entirely dismissed. So, they did in fact end up paying way over their planned budget. All fingers are definitely pointed at JJ for spending more than half of their money. But of course, the crew made do with what they had laying around the property and began to build Poguelandia. After all the hardship and extreme obstacles, they finally got to do something they all wanted. In Poguelandia there's a little bit of each of what they like there, but of course, the Pogues could not stay out of trouble for long.

After the beach race, JJ (without thinking or telling anyone) betted on himself their last piece of gold. He in fact did not win, losing the rest of their money. This was definitely a frustrating part, especially for John B. He really wanted to veer away from treasure hunting, but at this point they really didn’t have much of a choice. In the last episode of season three, a man named Wes Genrette offered them a task to find Black Beards amulet. They took Mr. Genrette up on his offer as he was willing to immediately give them five-thousand dollars. It was definitely noticeable though how Mr. Genrette and Mr. Groff looked at JJ frequently during his visit at the house, he was definitely a focus of attention.

Moving forward, JJ and Kiara set out to find the amulet in Black Beard’s sunken ship. They did, of course, have an unwanted visitor and almost died while scuba diving for the amulet. JJ hit the attacker with a speargun, giving him and Kiara time to escape. JJ, not aware, but when they got back to the boat with John B and Pope, Kiara revealed she had gotten the amulet.

When the Pogues tried to return to Wes Genrettes house to announce they had found the amulet, they had a surprise encounter with Shoupe, and he informed them that Mr. Genrette was dead. Shoupe was made aware of the job the Pogue were assigned and of course found them all persons of interest.

Now with Mr. Genrette dead, it's up to the Pogues to figure out the real mystery of it all, finding the blue crown. It is noticeable though, throughout this course of adventure John B is really hesitant to be a part of the treasure hunting life again. However, John B is very different from Big John and surely it will be okay for him to pursue this life again.

As the team continues the search in Charleston, they all are separate from each other. Pope and Sarah are stuck underground with the potential chance of drowning, John B and Cleo are waiting for Pope and Sarah up at the church, JJ reunited with who we find out is not his real father (Luke Maybank), and Kiara is at their bait, tackle, and charter tour shop with Rafe, who claims he's on the Pogues side. Pope and Sarah will probably make it out of the tunnel even if they don’t have the help of John B or Cleo, Kiara will most likely go looking for JJ. But what will JJ do now that he knows who his real parents are? And is Rafe’s intention truly pure? Is he really on the Pogues side this time?

This first half of season four was for sure a chaotic one. Lots of action, tears, and adventure, and more of it coming their way. Cannot wait to see how this adventure ends and what comes with it. Nov. seventh our questions will be answered! Go watch Outer Banks season four now!
