Cuesta Community College invites seniors to Figure Out Their Future
Cuesta community college invited MBH seniors to help them learn more about college, as the end of college application season approaches. The seniors got help advancing their college knowledge and got to miss the entire day of school to check out the Cuesta community. This experience can be very helpful and beneficial. It can help seniors figure out their college career, whether they have some knowledge or none at all.
When interviewing senior Maddison Day she said Cuesta advisors went over the application and transfer process, as well as how you get your first 2 years free through the Cuesta Promise. Day also said she wants to transfer after 2 years to study psychology at another college.
After they arrived the Seniors split up into groups to learn about what they want to study in the future. College Counselor Julia MacIntosh, is the one who makes stuff like this possible for MBHS seniors. She does everything from scouting representatives to arranging and making all this possible for MBHS. Trips like these are very beneficial for students who don't know much about college or students who want to learn more about their career opportunities for their future.
This opportunity is very popular with MBHS seniors because it offers flexibility to students that may struggle financially or lack knowledge about their future and what they want to do. Seniors also got to speak to Cuesta teachers to help them understand what courses they can take and what they might be interested in. If they had any questions they were answered by a guide or a teacher/professor. If students were unsure what they wanted to study, this trip was a major help because Cuesta offers so many pathways from business to agriculture, as well as paths like health and wellness.
Overall this trip helped many seniors decide what they want to do in the future and how they want to go about their college life and experience, whether that's studying to be a nurse or even becoming an engineer. Safe to say this year's 2024 Cuesta College field trip was a success.
