2025 Grammy Nominee List Released to Public
The official Grammy nominees list for the 2025 Grammy Awards was released on Nov. 8, 2024. The list includes many returning winners like Billie Eilish and Taylor Swift, but also artists who are new to the Grammys, such as Chappell Roan and Sabrina Carpenter, who are first-time nominees.
This year, the most nominated artist is Beyoncé, with 11 nominations across all categories. This makes her the most nominated artist in Grammy history with a total of 99 nominations, and continues to be the artist with the most Grammy wins at 32 awards. “COWBOY CARTER,” her newest album, has been nominated for Album of the Year and Best Country Album, and one of the album’s top tracks, “TEXAS HOLD ‘EM”, has been nominated for Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Country Song. She also has numerous other songs and performances that have been nominated, including “BODYGUARD” for Best Pop Solo Performance.
Following behind with seven nominations each are Charli XCX, Post Malone, Billie Eilish, and Kendrick Lamar. While both have previous nominations, Malone and Charli XCX would be first-time Grammy winners at the 2025 ceremony. Both artists are nominated in the more famous categories, such as Album of the Year and Song of the Year, but the artists are also pitted against each other for the win in Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
Swift, Roan, and Carpenter all have six nominations for the 2025 awards. Both artists Roan and Carpenter are nominated in the same six categories, including the major awards of Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Record of the Year. Carpenter and Roan are also both nominated for Best New Artist.
The eight nominees for Album of the Year, the most prestigious Grammy, consist of five artists who have been nominated for the award before; Jacob Collier has been nominated for “Djesse Vol. 4,” Swift for “The Tortured Poets Department,” Beyoncé for “COWBOY CARTER,” and Eilish for “HIT ME HARD AND SOFT.” The other three nominees - Carpenter, Charli XCX, and Roan - are first-time nominees in this category, for “Short n’ Sweet,” “BRAT,” and “The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess,” respectively.
This year’s Grammy nominees consist of a variety of hugely popular artists and small, first time nominees, and there is a huge array of up and coming artists that have been nominated in many of the major categories. The 2025 Grammy Awards will be held on Feb. 2, 2025, and will be available to watch on CBS.
