Amy Tuller: The Woman Bringing A Bright Light In the MBHS Office
By Haley Hart
March 7, 2025At the start of the 2024 school year, Morro Bay was introduced to a wonderful and hardworking addition to the MBHS family; Amy Tuller.
Tuller works in the attendance office, describing her job as; “taking attendance
answering phone calls, returning emails, checking students in and out of class.” Tuller has worked with children and families all throughout her professional career, long before her time at MBHS, sharing, “I love working with students and families. My coworkers are amazing and supportive. My favorite part about my job is getting to interact with the students. I love how it’s a fast paced job with lots of details. I also love the friends I’ve made working here. Plus it’s fun that my daughter goes to school here too.”
MBHS junior Abby Tuller, and Tuller’s daughter, describes her mother as, “hardworking, focused, and very supportive,” also sharing, “I’ve loved having my mom work here, there is always a place to go, it’s been great! My mom just genuinely cares for her students and loves seeing them come in, she really does.”
Tuller also didn’t shy away from the difficulties of her job, sharing, “Difficulties would be how busy it can get. Sometimes small details can slip through the cracks but nothing is too hard that can’t be easily fixed.” When asked about difficulties, one can’t help but take note of one of Tuller’s most central traits, her optimism, as she is able to calmly handle the stress of managing so much. Despite these minor bumps in the road, Tuller has had an extremely “fun time” working this school year, especially due to meeting of new people. Tuller expanded on this, noting her favorite parts of this year being, “A Christmas gift exchange with my coworkers,” and “seeing the kids dress up for spirit week in all the fun themes.”
Outside of work, Tuller loves spending time with her family, five cats, her dog, Bubba, and friends, also sharing that she loves watching her daughter wrestle on the MBHS wrestling team, a team she has always been willing to lend a helping hand with.
To add, Tuller puts the same amount of dedication and hard work into her personal hobbies as she does her job, excelling in gardening and art, to simply name a few.
Throughout her brief time here, it is incredibly clear how utterly adored by staff and students alike Tuller truly is, with sophomore wrestler, Ysa Garza, describing her as “A kind and authentic woman,” adding “She has always been so supportive and a huge advocate for the team. I love her.”
