Lola Weber is a freshman here at MBHS and it is her second year playing volleyball. Weber embodies the essence of true strong leadership. Weber is one of two team captains on the freshmen volleyball team. Weber enjoys playing beach volleyball as well as indoor. When asking Weber’s teammates how they would describe her they said, “She takes into account everyone's opinion and is a really good leader for our team.” Weber is really good at stepping up whenever there is any sort of conflict. Weber really enjoys being a team captain because she says it is really fun leading practice every once in a while. Weber has experience with leadership positions because she is a very outgoing person and is always willing to take charge.

With the positives comes some problems and struggles. With having a new head coach and that affecting the team, Weber stepped up and helped keep the structure and foundation. Being team captain, it is hard to keep players happy and ensure they are getting along well. When challenges like these arise, Weber works with her co-captain Scarlett and together, they can solve anything. Weber appreciates having her co-captain Scarlett; Weber said “I don't know what I would do without her.” Weber says that the team gives her a good positive attitude as much as they can in return for her leadership.

So far, Weber has said that the season has been really fun and enjoyable and she's super excited to see what's to come. Weber says that being a captain this year will help her be a better captain for the future, because she will have experience. This is Weber's first year being a team captain and she is really enjoying it so far. With the years to come Weber says she would love to be a team captain for the next 4 years.
