Girl's Volleyball Season Update

The MBHS girls volleyball season has begun. Their first game was against Templeton on Aug 22 and took place in Templeton. The players of the game for the varsity team were Reese Kelly and Joss Finch. The pirates played great even though they came home with a loss, but are committed to coming home with wins for the rest of the season.

The score wasn't the greatest as the sets were 0-3. Though this was not the best start for the girls, they were all open for corrections and changes. Carried below varsity were JV and frosh which both unfortunately lost against Templeton. However, they are very committed to staying consistent and winning the rest of the season.

Unfortunately, there was a big change for all the volleyball teams when the head coach for all the teams, decided to pursue other opportunities outside of MBHS volleyball. Though this change was hard, the girls are committed to keeping their structure that they have built. With a new coach the girls are excited to continue on their season with a fresh start.

The girls volleyball played again on Aug 29 against Soledad and all three teams took home wins. The frosh score was 25-9 in the first set, and 25-20 in the second set. Scarlett Witters, one of the team captains on the frosh team said “I am so proud of us and is so excited about what is to come for the season.” JV also took home their first win of the season with the players of the game being Gabby Taylor and Ella Meeham. Varsity also took home their first dub of the season!

The volleyball girls are excited to see what is to come for the rest of the season! They have so many more games and tournaments to look forward to.
