2025 Grammys Will Go Down In History As The Worst

This years’ GRAMMYs took place on Feb. 2, 2025. There was a variety of old and new artists ranging from The Beatles to Doechii. Normally, the GRAMMYs would be filled with amazing performances that bring everyone in the audience to their feet, however this year was different.

Chappell Roan is a newer and noteworthy artist that gained massive popularity this past year, however her performance was very outlandish. Her voice sounded incredible, but the set and backup dancers were another story. The backup dancers were dressed as clowns, dancing to her song “Pink Pony Club,” which simply does not make any sense whatsoever. Another performance that wasn’t particularly great was The Weekend. The Weekend performed his song “Timeless,” however it was very disturbing and interesting. There were backup dancers in completely red outfits, it seemed very demonic. Not only were the performances horrible, but the awards were overall rigged. The best country album of 2024 went to Beyoncé, which was surprising because her album “Cowboy Carter” wasn’t even authentic. She took old and other country artists’ songs and made them her own. She isn’t even a country singer, that album was all pop music with country lyrics. Not only did she win best country album of the year, but she also won best album overall. The album wasn’t even worth hearing when there have been many other great albums, such as “Short n’ Sweet,” by Sabrina Carpenter and "Hit Me Hard and Soft,” by Billie Elish.

The GRAMMYs seemed, in a way, like a cry for help this year. There were some good parts, but not many. Compared to all the other albums and performances from previous years, these all were pretty crazy. Beyoncé was at her prime in the 2000s; she needs to go back there and make that type of music, pop and hip-hop, because country is not her specialty. Her 2000s and 2010s music were the greatest in her career. She is robbing other artists who have worked in the country music department from what they deserve. Even though Beyoncé won an award for it, that doesn’t mean she’s the greatest. All the other country artists deserved better. She should not have gotten so many GRAMMY awards for her horrific album. Fingers crossed that next year the Grammys will redeem itself and get back in the game of having better performances, better awards, with deserving artists..
