Kaylee Tackett
By Lucy Haydu
Kaylee Tackett is a creative, funny and artistic person. She is a freshman at Morro Bay High School, and she likes to play tennis, She said, “ I like tennis because it's an easy sport but a lot of exercise and everyone on the team is supportive of each other.” Everyone has goals and Tackett's goals are, “ I want to record and release my own music, and get into the University of Washington.” That is a really good goal because if Tacket wants to go to the University of Washington she needs to have it as a goal and work hard for it.
Tackett is amused by art, because it’s her favorite class and you can express yourself without talking. Art helps Tackett express herself through painting. Tackett says her strength is, “God because I know he has a plan for me and that keeps me going.” Tackett loves to help out whenever she can so she sold over 200 bracelets and got 280 dollars for a domestic abuse charity. She chose this because it's to help out with people suffering and being treated badly from domestic violence and abuse.
Tackett said, “Some of my hobbies are reading, I really like to read! I also love going shopping and hanging out with my friends. Oh, and I love playing with my dog and practicing my singing.” Some of Tackett's background is a part of her hobbies. When she was little she always had a passion for singing. She had a video from when she was about 7 and she was singing for an event. Another part of her background is that she was adopted by her aunt and uncle because unfortunately her mom was murdered by her father who is in jail and she has a little sister/cousin named Kendall. Tackett loves her little sister and likes to spend time with her after school if she doesn't have sports or homework.
During her years of middle school, Kaylee was a top student. Tackett had a good relationship with her teachers. Also being on a team and playing sports in her 7th and 8th grade year she played basketball and she was a great player and had sportsmanship. When Tackett was on the court she was so focused and really into it. And that's how she is about writing too! Kaylee won a 7th grade poetry contest, and in 8th grade she won a narrative contest. Tackett is the first to turn in writing assignments in English. With Tackett’s great personality and hard working attitude, she is a very good writer and student, Tackett is looking forward to high school and all it has to offer.
