The Neon Dance is one that takes place every year and is a favorite of many students. The 2024 Neon Dance took place on March 15, 2024 in the small gym. Students showed up in neon attire and danced the night away with songs from various artists such as Usher, Pitbull, Gwen Stefani and many more. Songs such as “Hollaback Girl,” “Carnival,” and “Hotel Room Service,” were some of the favorites of the night.

The theme of this year's neon dance was “Discotecha'' and was executed to the fullest extent with disco balls, balloons, blacklights, and even a drinks bar with MBHS’s very own Mr. Jones serving up lemonade and shirley temples. Sophomore Beatrice Appel had this to say about how the dance went: “the neon dance is one I was really looking forward to, it's nice to not have to dress up and I loved all the dance circles this year.” The causal factor of the Neon Dance is definitely a student favorite and this was really shown with all the jeans, t-shirts, and even construction vests seen this year.

The Neon Dance was a great experience for students to dance, hangout with friends new and old alike, and just have a great time. The energy and excitement was high all night as everyone screamed lyrics to their favorite songs, drank lemonade,  got covered in neon paint, and even threw glow sticks through the air. The confetti that came falling down from the ceiling at the end of the night was the icing on the cake, truly a great way to round off the night. I think it is safe to say that the 2024 MBHS Neon Dance was a success.
