Winter Formal Recap
The annual Winter Formal dance happened on Friday December 8th. The small gym transformed into the Winter Wonderland with plenty of tinsel, balloons, and a photo backdrop in blue and white. There were close to 300 people at the dance, where students got to showcase their individual formal style. MBHS has a reputation for being kind and accepting, and during this break from the stress of school it brought out the social side of people, fostering new connections and friendships by getting a lot of people out of their comfort zone. Almost everyone that went had something good to say about it, like Micheal who said, “it's a good chance to make the most of our time together and to just enjoy each other's company along with the memories. And embrace the opportunity because chances like this won’t last forever.” The music was pretty diverse in genre from Artists like Pitbull, Alicia Keys, Bruno Mars, Miley Cyrus, Fergie, Usher, Ludacris, Lil Jon, Ice Spice, Nicki Minaj, and plenty more that ensured everyone had a song to dance to with very diverse selections of dance moves. Many kids liked the brownies that are the staple at our school dances. Songs like The Hotel Room Service by Pitbull play at every MBHS dance, but never fail to pick up the energy quickly. The energy in the air when the song changes to a crowd favorite is the best part of the winter formal experience, as well as the very energetic dance circles. Even to the last song when the lights turn on the memories and energy still lingers with a sense of accomplishment. Overall, the annual winter formal dance is a must attend event for the experience and the chance to meet many different people. It was more than a school dance, it was an opportunity to bond.
