On February 16th and 17th, 3 people from our Boys Wrestling Team, Kyle Foerst, Dawson Whitney, and Shea Dawson traveled to Selland Arena in Fresno to compete in the 2024 CIF Central Section Masters Tournament, bringing an abundance of wrestlers from countless schools across the state to decide who would be competing at our state championships on February 22nd to 24th at Mechanics Bank Arena in Bakersfield.

To be a state qualifier this year in the boys division they needed to place 10th place or above, and while all of the boys wrestled hard, only Shea qualified, going 4-3 in the 132 lb weight class, coming in 8th in his weight class and advancing to the state championships.

Kyle Foerst wrestled both days of the tournament, going 3-3 in the 138 lb weight class, and sadly after fiercely fighting through a rough match, lost by one point and placed 11th.  Dawson Whitney, though not placing, wrestled hard matches and barely lost his last match.

Each of these wrestlers with their own unique set of skills contributed to the electrifying atmosphere at this year's CIF Central Section Masters Tournament, and we’re all excited to see where they all go with their wrestling careers.  All of the wrestlers that qualified for Masters this year wrestled in ways that showcased their talent in both defensive and offensive techniques that secured their places at masters was evident as they fought their ways through their competitive and fiercely contested weight classes. No matter where they placed it was evident that their performance resonated with fans and athletes alike and showcased their potential for future success in the wrestling world.
