The junior varsity and varsity boys golf teams just finished their 2025 season, which was fantastic for them. They finished the season strong with coming third overall in the league. The team has worked very hard during this season to win many matches.
Not only did the team come third in the league, but they made many great memories along the way. Senior Nate Landwehr said, “My favorite part of the season was when we went to the tournament in Bakersfield. It’s just a lot of fun for a tournament, where we get to play with each other and just have fun, so that was a good time.” The varsity team traveled all around this season trying to make it the best it can be. Sophomore Mason Philps said, “My favorite moment from the season was golfing with all my friends during practice and then my first time playing in a tournament.” The junior varsity team also had an amazing turnout this season and definitely have stepped up their game.
With memories, there comes bonding moments. The team had spent a lot of time together and they all created a strong bond. Junior Stone Hawk said, “Overall, I think our team's chemistry was really high. We had a lot of fun together. We were all pretty competitive and enjoyed being around each other.” The team went on many tournament trips, but they also went on a varsity trip to San Diego. Senior Jonas Smith said, “My favorite team bonding moment was our varsity San Diego trip, it was really fun and we got to see professionals play.” This year's team had many amazing opportunities to improve in their skills and work as a team. For Smith, seeing professionals play was very interesting and exciting.
The junior varsity and varsity teams both finished in spectacular places and had an overall amazing season. Philps said, “I think we did good this season. It’s going to be bad next year because we won’t have our seniors.” Landwehr said, “We came overall third in our league and we were really close to second, but overall it was really good. Especially, we were missing half our team in our first league match, so I would say we did great this year.”
This year's season of boys golf will be tough to beat but the team can do it. They have worked so hard and have definitely grown over the years. The team had just an outstanding season and next year will be even better.
