Boy's Water Polo
Boy’s water polo is a fall sport that happens on campus during fall season. It’s a water sport where the goal is to throw the ball into the goal. Water polo depends on communication and teamwork. Let’s hear what some of the players had to say about the sport.
Freshman Chace Dallas said, “My favorite part about the sport is the people.” He also said that, “The hardest thing about participating in the sport is keeping up with my school work because I tend to miss a lot of class.” The water polo games have an undetermined game schedule, so if you're interested in watching one of the games, check their schedule on the school’s website. The home games are always held at the MBHS pool.
Senior Noah Dallas said, “the sport is a lot harder than people think it is, you get kicked, and grabbed, which is pretty difficult.” He also said, “I started playing when I was 10. What made me interested was my friend's dad. He would take us to Cuesta and we would play, and I feel like it’s the main sport at our school.” The last thing he said was, “For anybody who wants to play, just come and practice with us.”
Another senior, Ryker Robson said, “I’m looking forward to out of town games, traveling to another school with the team.” He also said, “My favorite part is just being outside in the sun all day in the pool and just the sport in general is fun.” Water polo is an outdoor sport, so if you like being outside like Ryker, try it out! Sophomore Miles Kennedy said, “My favorite part about the sport is how unique it is, I don’t think there’s a game with so much cardio and fighting in it.” He also said, “The hardest thing about the sport is swimming, it’s just really fast paced.” So if you're someone out there and you're a really good swimmer try the sport! Their last game was against Arroyo Grande High School, the score was 7 to 17, however we have won 4 out of 11 games in this season so far. They’ve played 11 games, but there are more to come! So come on out and see them play for yourself!
