On Sunday, the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs played against each other for the chance to win the title. This is the second time that the 49ers and Chiefs have played each other for several years. This game marked the Chiefs’ 4th appearance in the last 5 years.

I thought that the game was worth watching because both teams did an exceptional job. Although nobody scored in the first quarter, the 49ers began by hitting a 55 yard field goal by Jake Moody to put them in the lead. By the end of halftime, the score was 10-3 with the 49ers up.

However, a big turn of events occurred in the second half as the Chiefs gained the lead back with a 10-0 run in the 3rd quarter alone. One play that stood out to me was when the Chiefs punted and managed to keep their ball. I felt that the Chiefs were dominating as they noticed a pattern that the D-Line had and when the Chiefs recovered the ball, they shortly scored a touchdown. In the end, the Chiefs won the Super Bowl for the second time in a row with a score of 25-22. There were a lot of high stakes in this game and with the final 3 seconds, the 49ers sadly did not stop the Chiefs in order to win. Although there was a mix of emotions during the game, Brock Purdy, the 49ers quarterback, had 255 yards and a touchdown. On the other end, Patrick Mahomes, the quarterback for the Chiefs had 333 yards, a touchdown, and an interception.

Two players that I feel performed very well were Travis Kelce, the tight end for the Chiefs with an outstanding 9 catches and an average of 10.3 yards and Christian McCaffrey with 80 receiving yards and 80 rushing yards with only 8 catches, an average of 10 yards, and 1 touchdown. Overall, both teams did a remarkable job and significantly showed what it takes to make it to the Super Bowl.
