It’s no secret that the Chiefs future hall of fame tight end, Travis Kelce, is dating the twelve time Grammy Award winner, Taylor Swift. It all started when Travis Kelce attended Taylor Swift's Eras tour in Kansas City, Missouri on July 8th, 2023. The Eras tour was played at the Chiefs’ home stadium, otherwise known as Arrowhead stadium. From there, the two have taken off in popularity.
Taylor has been spotted at various Chiefs games throughout the 2023 season so far in support of Travis Kelce and the Chiefs. Her attendance at games has brought a lot of television viewers during those games. In a week four matchup against the Jets, digital viewership peaked at 29.4 million viewers, according to NBC who was hosting the Sunday night matchup. Many say this is what is called the “Swifties effect”. She has also brought in more in attendance at Chiefs games at both Arrowhead stadium and away games. When she goes to Chiefs games, she usually sits in a box seat with the rest of the Chiefs players' families. She has already made friends with Travis Kelce's family. Taylor has made good friends with Donna Kelce,Travis Kelce's mom, and she has also met Ed Kelce,Travis Kelce's father.
The National Football League is also starting to get in on the run by changing their bio on X to “Chiefs are 2-0 as swifties” after the Chiefs’ Sunday night victory against the New York Jets. This left NFL fans fuming because an icon like Taylor Swift is getting media clout and attention from the NFL. The NFL then quickly changed their X bio after the push back from fans. The NFL was just trying to hop on the bandwagon of what is trendy.
Taylor’s popularity has blown up even more now that she is dating Travis Kelce. Swifties are now going as far as to buying custom “Swiftie” Chiefs jersey’s and starting to dress up as the couple and go to Chiefs games. The Chiefs have obviously benefited from Taylor which is good because it brings lots of profit not only for the Chiefs but for Taylor and Travis as well. When Buffalo Bills Quarterback, Josh Allen was asked on his thoughts on Travis and Taylor by PEOPLE magazine he stated, “I think Taylor Swift's appearances at the Chiefs games have attracted a lot of viewers to what we're doing. In this business, you're either growing or you're dying." However, he supports the relationship between the two and hopes that they make the most of it.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have a bright future together. The two are a great match for each other and both are pretty well known throughout the world. Travis Kelce is a NFL star and Taylor is a very popular music artist. The Chiefs organization is very welcoming to Taylor and Travis, which is a good thing for both of them and the Chiefs, not only business wise, but the relationships and good times that come out of it.
