Victoria Young
Freshman Victoria Young is a confident, creative, and well-spoken person. She plays volleyball right here on campus. When I talked to her she said “I like volleyball because there’s a lot of teamwork involved with the sport and losing in volleyball helps me understand the sport.” She understands that learning a sport comes with losing, as it is just a part of the learning process.
Young said, “My goal for this year is to end the semester with good grades and at the end of the year as well.” She also states “My long-term goal is to live a peaceful life without worrying about where my next meal will be coming from.” She has her life planned out.
Here on campus, she is involved with journalism, ethnic studies, and volleyball, which she likes and enjoys. Young also said, “My favorite class is math because it challenges me and once I get it, it makes me feel accomplished.” She said, “After high school, I plan to get a well-paying job and save up the money I make to buy resources for myself and my family.”
Something about Young is that her mom is from Germany while her dad is from Idaho. She has one sibling named Ben, who’s 19-years-old. Her favorite place is in Germany because her grandmother’s grave is located there, however, they haven’t visited her grave yet. Normally she hangs out with her boyfriend, Ben, and eats with her friends. Lastly, Young said, “My favorite thing about myself is my hair and my eyes because they’re a part of my heritage.” Young is a very bright and brilliant person, there is a lot to come in the future for her.
