Gabrielle Taylor

Growing up, freshman Gabby Taylor was your average girl, although school and sports always came natural to her, which made her different from others. Taylor would always outdo everyone which led to high expectations from parents, teachers, and teammates. With this came many struggles, such as having to always live up to people's expectations. Taylor's life was greatly impacted when one of her best friends, her grandma, passed in sixth grade and altered her view of life.

Taylor plays for the JV volleyball team. When asked what her biggest fear is, she said “losing.” Taylor has always been the type to try her hardest to be the best in the things she loves, such as volleyball, and is always striving for success.

When asked for 3 words to describe her, Taylor’s friends said: “passionate, competitive, funny.” People's first impressions of Taylor is usually that she is blunt, though when really getting to know Taylor you will realize her perfect bubbly personality and her love for her friends. Taylor is always showing her kindness and love for her friends and family no matter the circumstance.

Taylor's life is full of friends and family and she likes to live everyday to the fullest. Taylor embraces life's little moments like winning a game. She also knows because of her loss how quick life can go and to never take things for granted, and cherishing every little moment means a lot to Taylor. When asked what brings her peace Taylor said, “getting all my homework done in class.”

Taylor’s plan is to try her hardest in high school so she can get into a 4 year UC college and study sports psychology. Taylor said her highest priority is ”making her mom proud.” Growing up Taylor has always been close to her mom, and Taylor's mom has been her number one supporter and best friend since day one. Taylor said she would not know what to do without her mom in her life and cherishes every moment with her.

Taylor loves experiencing new things from traveling to new places to learning about unfamiliar cultures. Before high school is over, Taylor wants to get a job and travel the world to experience and learn about different cultures. When asked what some of her hidden talents are she said,”ping pong, pickleball.” In Taylor’s free time she loves to read and spend time with friends and family. Family is a very important aspect to Taylor’s life, Taylor said her family is very close and means a lot to her.

Taylor’s go-to quote is, “if you're not first you're last.” and this quote is to encourage herself and others to preserve no matter what. Taylor is greatly skilled at everything, and will always try her hardest to build people up. Not only that, but she is always going to be there for you no matter what. And knowing her for only 3 years helped me learn so much and become a better person.
